I've been working with bodies of all shapes, sizes and ages for the last 20 years. Competitive athletes, weekend warriors, stay at home moms, desk bound executives, post partum momma's , they all found there way to a yoga mat.
They came because they heard that yoga would help with strength, flexibility, balance, co-ordination and stress management.
It was there on the yoga mat that the poses revealed muscular imbalances, the (often painful) consequences of old injuries, and unconscious moving and breathing habits.
I soon realized that although the physical practice of yoga could address many of these issues, there was still a need for clients to learn to move more functionally, and specifically to address their unique lifestyle and sporting goals, injuries and health and fitness needs.
And so I certified first as a Personal Trainer and then in Corrective Exercise. Working with clients to develop more functional movement patterns, greater strength, proprioception and balance skills.
This helped them see improvements in their yoga practice, in their sports and hobbies and relieved long term pain and the stress it bought both physically and mentally.
Feeling better physically my clients wanted to make other lifestyle changes to support and enhance what they were seeing in the gym and in a yoga class.
And so my trainings in Nutrition and Health & Wellness Coaching began.
